Southwest Orlando Family Medicine continues to endorse that all eligible patients receive any version available of the COVID-19 vaccine. All Florida residents are now eligible for the vaccine. Please note that some age restrictions may apply. For more information on eligibility, scheduling, locations, and Pfizer vaccine approval for 12 years and older, please visit our Patient Advisory page.

Southwest Orlando Family Medicine is aware of changes being made to COVID-19 guidelines. As a community healthcare provider, we will maintain our current health and safety measures at this time, including COVID-19 screening protocols and requiring mask usage for all patients, staff, and clinicians at our offices. We will evaluate the latest guidance and continue to monitor and assess community health and safety concerns before making adjustments to our policy.

As global vaccination efforts continue, we are seeing increasing interest in domestic and international travel. Due to the risk of rapidly developing COVID-19 variants, our clinical team strongly recommends that patients avoid unnecessary travel. Florida has seen a growing number of cases of the COVID-19 UK variant (B.1.1.7), which is estimated to be 40-80% more transmissible that the initial COVID-19 virus. While hospitalization risks are lowering in vaccinated persons, variants present the risk of continued spread of the virus in those not vaccinated as well as further mutations of the virus, creating more pandemic challenges in the months ahead.

If you do decide to travel during this time, Southwest Orlando Family Medicine advises patients to review our COVID-19 Travel Advisory for important information on domestic and international travel. Travel restrictions and guidelines may vary from region to region, and your destination may require a negative COVID-19 test letter. Southwest Orlando Family Medicine offers COVID-19 Rapid Testing and can provide a negative test letter for patients who set up an appointment with us and test negative.

Thank you for entrusting us with keeping you and your loved ones healthy and safe.
