Southwest Orlando Family Medicine continues to strongly endorse that all eligible patients receive any version of the COVID-19 vaccine available. As healthcare providers, we recognize the power of vaccination as one of the closest means we have to cure and prevent disease.

Our staff has received Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, and we hope you and your family will join these community vaccination efforts to help protect those around us and prevent the emergence of more contagious and dangerous variants. Have questions about the vaccine? Learn more on our COVID-19 Vaccine blog and COVID-19 FAQ blog.

The goal of vaccination is to help reduce hospitalization outcomes and death due to the COVID-19 virus. All of the vaccines currently available have undergone rigorous testing and are proven to be successful, offering between 80-95% protection against severe cases of COVID-19. At this time, more than half of all US adults are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, helping us experience some return to normal in our everyday lives.

For vaccinated and unvaccinated persons, please review the chart below by the CDC, which provides overall risk level and masking guidelines for everyday activities.

We acknowledge that CDC guidelines may be difficult to follow for families with children under the age of 12 or those considered highly vulnerable despite vaccination status. Our Clinical Team recommends following masking and distancing guidelines whenever possible to prevent potential exposure.

Please note that these new guidelines are not intended for healthcare offices, hospitals, or public transportation settings. While we have made recent updates to our Office Safety Protocol to better individualize your healthcare experience, mask usage still remains a requirement for patients entering and leaving our offices.

We know that many of our patients, friends and family have experienced difficult times due to the pandemic. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read our latest blog on Pandemic Mindfulness for helpful ways to focus on hope, mindfulness and positivity as we begin to move past the worst months of this global health crisis.

Thank you for entrusting us with keeping you and your loved ones healthy and safe.
